Is it all just too much?
Feeling a deep sadness that you can’t seem to control? Mind racing? Can’t slow down and focus long enough to accomplish anything?
There’s no doubt: today’s society is heavy-laden with stress.
You have too much on your plate.
You’re pulled in every direction.
And you’re overwhelmed.
Sometimes, this overwhelm manifests in sadness; other times, it manifests in anxious, unsettled feelings.
Do you often find yourself focusing so much on other people that you forget how to focus on yourself? Perhaps you may not feel like you’re worth the time or deserving of self-care.
Or maybe you feel that if you take time for yourself, you’re being selfish.
If this sounds like you, know that you are not alone.
It’s no wonder. As you continue to face many distractions (such as smart phones and social media), responsibilities, and expectations, it’s easy to become stressed and overwhelmed.
And chronic stress can lead to symptoms of anxiety and depression, lowered self-esteem, mood swings, burnout, and a host of other psychological and physical problems.
It’s my job to help you find a balance.
Together, we’ll use a holistic approach to counseling to explore the mind-body-spirit connection. Perhaps you may be strong in one area but lacking in another. Or you may have a demanding work or home life and can’t seem to find time for things that give your life meaning or that used to give you joy.
By helping you be more mindful and learn to look within, we can work together to find that balance you’re missing. As we build some new skills, we’ll work to relieve the symptoms that brought you in.
Give yourself a break. Be good to yourself.
